How to speak English to your children: repeat and reinforce
Repeating English words and phrases often, is one way to encourage children to repeat in sequence to help them consolidate vocabulary and get them used to pronouncing words correctly. As Teacher Clarissa suggests, using daily routines is a very useful activity to avoid creating a barrier between language and direct experience and to teach new words and phrases: the names of food at mealtimes, body parts during bath time, names of rooms and everyday objects, getting ready for bed.
- This will facilitate language adoption in an environment where children will feel free to express themselves in English, even if they make slight mistakes. sentiranno liberi di esprimersi in inglese, anche se commettono errori.
