From the Chamber of Deputies in Italy to Dublin: CEFA in the international education debate
The General Director of Scuole CEFA and Scuole FAES Milano, Giovanni Vicari, attended the 41st Annual General Assembly of OIDEL — Organisation Internationale pour le Droit à l'Éducation et la Liberté d'Enseignement — hosted at Saint Patrick's College, near Dublin
An international dialogue on freedom of education
The Assembly brought together school and institutional representatives from around the world in a rich exchange of ideas, focusing on the values that have always guided the mission of CEFA and FAES: freedom of education, the centrality of the family and the quality of school systems.
During the meeting, particular recognition was given to the participation of CEFA and FAES at the Chamber of Deputies during the hearings on freedom of educational choice — a sign that the contribution of our schools to the national debate is followed and appreciated well beyond Italy's borders.
Why Ireland?
It is no coincidence that the assembly took place in Ireland. According to the OIDEL Freedom of Education Index, the country ranks first out of 157 nations analysed for freedom of education — a distinction that makes it a natural point of reference for all those who believe that schools should be plural, free and family-centred.
Builiding bridges, looking ahead
Giovanni Vicari's participation in this event reflects a clear vision: CEFA and FAES do not focus solely on the present of their own schools, but constantly engage with the most virtuous educational models at an international level. Sharing experiences, building relationships and remaining open to the best that the world of education has to offer are essential steps in order to keep growing.
Because the conviction that drives the daily work of our schools remains the same: school and family must walk together, united by a genuine educational alliance, in the journey of growth of every child.
