CEFA SCHOOLS

PRIMARY Petranova

The school

Petranova international Institute is located in the heart of the Piazza Bologna neighbourhood, only a few steps from the Metro stop “Policlinico.” and within few hundred meters from Iunior International.

The building, the permanent home of Petranova since 2005, was redesigned in 2024 by an engineering and architecture firm to be fully functional for the educational project of the CEFA Schools: the use of natural materials and the creation of inclusive spaces, the educational gardens, as well as the new green wall on the building’s façade, reflect choices with a clear pedagogical value.

The school features spacious and particularly bright classrooms, as well as a wide variety of indoor and outdoor spaces for both curricular and afternoon extracurricular activities: a multifunctional gym, a theater, a computer lab, a STEAM lab, an art studio, a music and dance room, a psychomotricity room, courtyards, indoor ateliers, outdoor areas equipped for younger children, a grass futsal field, and a multipurpose basketball and mini-volleyball court.

EDUCATIONAL OFFER

At Petranova International Institute we offer children and their families a formative model based on personalized education. Tutoring is a basic element of our educational offer and allows us to follow each pupil’s growth and evolution, intervening pointedly according to each young person’s needs.

The other essential element of our educational project is the international outlook which finds its fulfilment in our Bilingualism: some subjects are taught directly in English to ensure our students a high level of knowledge of the language.

Finally, our pupils’ preparation is enriched by a component of solidarity and endeavour which finds full development in some of our specific projects.

EDUCAZIONE PERSONALIZZATA DIFFERENZIATA

The project proposes an integrated educational model that alternates lessons and single-sex activities with moments in which girls and boys work together, following an educational path aimed at the relational growth of each student.

The experience gained since 1981, along with the most recent pedagogical studies, confirms that some educational objectives and certain skills—both academic and transversal—develop more effectively in single-sex groups, while other objectives and skills are fully realized in mixed-gender groups.

Single-sex activities allow for the enhancement of the unique characteristics of girls and boys, respecting their individual rhythms, learning styles, and different cognitive and emotional approaches.

Activities carried out together, on the other hand, promote collaboration, mutual respect, understanding of differences, and more harmonious relational growth.
